Europeanisation and Policy Learning – PhD Workshop 23 April 2020

The University of Edinburgh’s FUTURES Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence and Europa Institute are delighted to convene a one-day PhD Workshop on ‘Europeanisation and Policy Learning’. Taking place on 23 April 2020, the workshop will provide a venue for PhD candidates to share their work-in-progress in a constructive and interdisciplinary setting. Participants will be given approximately 10 minutes on a panel to present their ideas. Chaired discussions with other participants and assembled academics will then provide feedback on projects.

The workshop welcomes applications from PhD candidates at European universities who are employing diverse methodological approaches to the study of Europeanisation and Policy Learning, both within the EU and as part of the EU’s external relations. Applications are encouraged from the fields of political science, international relations, social policy, sociology, law and interdisciplinary studies.

Interested applicants should submit a short abstract (max. 500 words) and an academic CV to (europa@ed.ac.uk) by 18 November 2019. Those selected to participate will be informed by mid-December 2019. Participants will send written papers/summaries (max. 5,000 words) of their project by 9 March 2020. The papers will be circulated to all participants to read in advance of the workshop.

Contributions may be considered for publication on the Centre’s European Futures blogsite.

The Centre will fund economy travel and up to two night’s accommodation for participants.

The Workshop is generously co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.
